Volleyball Curriculum

Developed by Deborah Newkirk, the Elementary Volleyball Curriculum is a complete, seamless Physical Education curriculum for Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Delivered digitally and with video instruction, this adaptable, high-quality program is the perfect solution for public schools, private schools, home schools, and club programs.

Objective driven; skills and drills are age- appropriate and aligned with national standards.

Created with no/low lines and large groups in mind, lessons are adaptable for class size, length and ability.

Cue words and phrases are kid friendly and rhythmical at times to ensure quick learning.

Lessons

Adaptable lessons with distinct components can be shortened or lengthened or easily adapted to more days. Every lesson includes references to appropriate videos, worksheets, and posters for easy implementation.

Objectives

Objective driven; skill introductions and specific selected drills are age-appropriate. The year to year experience shows progressions, but assumes nothing.

Videos

Nearly 50 how-to instructional (skills) and teaching drills videos are built in for quick referencing, linked inside the curriculum ebook, so finding a skill demonstration is easy for teachers.

Worksheets

Partner Task Sheets are a peer coaching tool that are sprinkled throughout the curriculum to reinforce the cues and develop student communication.

Posters

Illustrated Skill Posters highlight cue words and offer visual references for body positioning.

Color Posters

Available as an add-on, large colorful posters provide visual interest and are color-coordinated with the Skill Ball.

The format is so easy to follow, with drills, games and coaching tips. If there was ever a question on a particular drill the video links would answer all of the questions as to how it should be run.

As a district level curriculum person, working with Deborah was amazing. She ‘gets it’! She understands the idea of creating curriculum that is effective for all children, not an easy task in the public school setting. Her volleyball curriculum is engaging and developmentally spot on!

As a physical educator myself, I created this curriculum specifically for you and the many beautiful children you teach. This tool will provide your students with a strong introduction to the fun sport of volleyball, develop a sense of confidence through know-how, and instill a passion for the game. I hope you’ll enjoy teaching this as much as I enjoyed developing it.

“The curriculum is so simple to follow. During our camps it allowed me to entrust my staff to run camps and feel confident that it would be a quality camp.

It makes programming so easy now that we have a consistent and progressive curriculum in place. Even when we need to substitute a coach for a day, the curriculum allows for an easy transition without missing a beat.

The feedback we received from parents was ALWAYS positive on how much fun the children were having and they are learning so much! These programs have given our facilities a SOLID program and have the children excited about camps next summer.”
